Axed Paughco Tank

This axed Pughco tank was fabricated by my buddy, Mike Reed ("Reactive Customs"), in Marion, Indiana.  We wanted to preserve and even highlight the fabrication and welding, so the tank is simply gold-leafed and black pinstriped right on top of the bare steel, then clarcoated and buffed to preserve it.  To me, looks like it was chopped, leafed and striped by some 1960's SoCal hot-rodder to be run at the Salt Flats.

The scalloped brass gas cap is also a FlameThrower Customs piece that I machine to fit old Harley-Davidson bayonet-style or cam-lock style tanks.
